Support — Groceries

Groceries is a shopping list for one person, or for a household sharing one list. If something here doesn’t answer your question, write to us — a person reads every message.

It helps to say which iPhone and which version of iOS you are on, and whether the list you were using was your own or one shared with you.

I joined a shared list and my own list disappeared

It isn’t gone. When you join someone else’s list, that list takes over the screen and your own is kept aside. Leave the shared list and your own comes back, exactly as you left it.

Sharing a list

Sharing runs on iCloud, so everyone taking part needs to be signed in to iCloud on their device. Send an invitation from the app and open the link on the iPhone that will use the list. Once someone joins, everyone sees the same items, and a change made by one person shows up for everyone.

An invitation link isn’t working

Open the link on the iPhone with Groceries installed, signed in to the iCloud account that should join. Invitations are meant for one person, so a link that has already been used won’t take a second one.

Items aren’t syncing between devices

Both devices need to be signed in to iCloud with iCloud Drive turned on, and need a working connection. Syncing happens in the background and can lag a moment behind. If a device has been offline, opening the app and leaving it on screen for a few seconds usually settles it.

Sorting, notes or importing do nothing

Those three features are the ones that need the internet — they ask our server to read what you gave it. With no connection, or if the server is briefly unavailable, the app tells you and leaves your list untouched. Nothing is lost; try again in a moment. What each feature sends is set out in the privacy policy.

Deleting your data

Your list lives in your own iCloud, not on our servers. Delete it in the app, or clear the app’s iCloud data in iOS Settings, and it is gone. We hold nothing to delete on our side.

Requirements

Groceries runs on iPhone, on iOS 26 or later. Sharing and syncing need an iCloud account.
